A U.S. Navy Curtiss SNC-1 Falcon trainer (BuNo 6294) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida (USA), on 8 January 1942. Original caption: The "Falcon" was used for intermediate pilot instruction. This picture, taken Jan. 8, 1942, shows the plan in all aluminum. These aircraft were transferred to Naval Auxiliary Air Field Green Cove Springs, Fla. from 1942-44. This aircraft was powered by a 420 horsepower Wright R-974 engine." |
