The Hawker 800 was built by Hawker Beechcraft as a mid-size twin-engine business jet. It was developed from the British Aerospace BAe 125 and performed its maiden flight in June 1983.
The Hawker 800 design has the same airframes as other modern aircraft in needing sub-assemblies to be built away from the last point of assembly. The major parts were built in the United Kingdom before being transported to Wichita, Kansas.
The Hawker 800 can accommodate two crew seats plus two jump seats and a 907 kg of maximum payload. It has an external length of 15.60 meters, an external height of 3.1 meters, and a fuselage diameter of 1.9 meters. The cabin height is 1.75 meters, the cabin length is 6.5 meters, and the cabin width is 1.83 meters.
It has a tail height of 5.5 meters and a wheelbase of 6.4 meters. The wingspan is 15.65 meters and the wing area is 34.7 square meters. The aircraft has a basic empty weight of 7,076 kg, an operating empty weight of 7,257 kg, a maximum ramp weight of 12,583 kg, and a maximum zero-fuel weight of 8,165 kg. The maximum takeoff and landing weights are 12,428 kg and 10,591 kg, respectively. It has a total fuel capacity of 1,499 US gal.
The aircraft is powered by twin Honeywell TFE731-5BR engines. It is a geared turbofan with a single-stage fan, four axial LP stage, one centrifugal HP stage compressor, annular combustors, and a single-stage HP turbine and three-stage LP turbine.
Each engine produces a maximum thrust of 4,300 lbf. The Hawker 800 has a maximum level speed and a maximum cruising speed of 456 knots at 29,000 feet. The economical cruise at 39,000 to 43,000 feet is 400 knots.
The stall speed is 92 knots in landing configuration at typical landing weight. It has a 2,580 nautical mile range with maximum payload and a 2,825-mile range with maximum fuel and reserves. The service ceiling is 43,000 feet and the rate of climb is 3,100 feet per minute. It has a takeoff balanced field length of 1,713 meters at maximum takeoff weight and a landing distance of 1,372 meters at typical landing weight and six passengers.
The Hawker 800 is fitted with a Standard Honeywell SPZ-800, a dual RCZ-850 integrated comms, a Motorola N1335BSelcal, and a Primus 870 weather radar.
